This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These materials will be used for students to complete STEM challenges. It is hard to get enough donated/recyclable materials to do STEM challenges and have a makerspace area in our classroom. By purchasing these materials, all students will have an opportunity to participate in multiple challenges throughout the school year.

STEM challenges help students build their leadership and creative problem-solving skills.

Students feel a sense of pride and accomplishment when they complete these challenges. Having enough material for everyone ensures they all start on even ground when beginning the challenge.

Many of my students do not have access to these kinds of materials at home, so during our recess/health time, many students like to have the opportunity to just create things. I will be able to add these materials to our makerspace area so that students can have a creative outlet to make whatever they like.
