When they first saw the materials, they immediately asked if they could start using them. The excitement in the room was wonderful to see, and students were eager to explore and create.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the play dough during small-group lessons and learning centers. Students have used it to build letters, shape words, and model ideas during reading and vocabulary activities. One of my favorite moments was watching students work together to form vocabulary words with the dough while explaining what the words meant. It made learning both hands-on and fun.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using the play dough during literacy centers to practice spelling patterns, word building, and creative storytelling activities. Gifted learners often juggle multiple projects, independent research, and creative problem-solving tasks. Having high-quality supplies allows them to organize complex ideas, track long-term investigations, and document their thinking in thoughtful ways.\r\nTheir binders have become tools for goal-setting, collaboration, and managing advanced projects. These materials support not just academic growth, but also the development of responsibility, independence, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helps remove barriers and ensures that every gifted student has equal access to the tools they need to reach their full potential. Each child has their own square, and it is well marked and delineated. Children in PreK rely on visuals to help them self-regulate and to improve their visual spatial awareness. The carpet has improved focus and attention. \r\n\r\nOne of the best times we have had with the carpet so far was when we were working on scissor skills. Every year our kids get to cut colorful paper into confetti for a carpet confetti party. Our kids couldn't wait to decorate our new carpet with their creations. It was like a big ticker tape parade that day.\r\n\r\nIn the past our students were not at all interested in picking up after such a fun event. Not now! Once they were finished throwing the colorful paper, they were just as excited to tidy it up. Never once did the old raggedy carpet get such a cleanup! They are all so proud of the beautiful addition to our classroom.\r\n\r\nThere is nothing like being able to retire a decades old classroom carpet that has seen better days.","fullyFundedDate":1755721914489,"projectUrl":"project/my-body-my-space-comfy-classroom-carpet/9576801/","projectTitle":"My Body, My Space-Comfy Classroom Carpet Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heffernan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8664841_orig.jpg?crop=574,574,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755281887340","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664841"},{"teacherId":2222424,"projectId":8480884,"letterContent":"My students were very excited to receive these supplies. It's improved is intelligibility immensely. \r\n\r\nThe hand2mind Mnemonic Picture Alphabet Jumbo Flash Cards are a big favorite of my struggling learners who have working memory deficits.
