My Students

Interactive whiteboards are changing our classrooms! They build student interest, and provide another tool to enhance student learning. Having a classroom voting assessment system would make this tool even more effective.

I teach in a small, public charter school in New Jersey.

The school's community is often called "the inner city," but to my students, it is their home. We try to provide an more positive and academically rigorous alternative to the students in our community. Students and their families love our school because it is safe, and because of our commitment to "improving the community, one child at a time."

My Project

Having the Mimio Vote system would change my classroom dramatically. I would be able to include all students in answering my questions, not just those who raise their hands. Every student would be involved in Q & A. Also, I would have a record of how students answered each question, and could help students by working with them on concepts they are not getting correctly. Students would have to pay attention because each child would be accountable for participating; classes would develop a sense of pride as they see that they, as a class, are mastering the concepts. Probably most importantly, students would be excited to participate in class because they would have an exciting tool to use in class.

My students and I really appreciate any support you can lend to this project.
