Help me give my students a way to express themselves through design and creation with the 3D printer. Help me give them opportunities to learn differently and be rewarded as well.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Panter's classroom raised $893

My Students
Covid has made things very, very hard for students, teachers, and families. Being in school off and on, in person or not, whiplash.... Learning was not consistent, teachers were struggling to teach online, kids couldn't get online for multiple reasons. It was so hard AND it is still hard! Now we are back in school and we are all so needy. We need people and social and fun and learning!
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that still love school even through the hardships.
My Project
I want students to learn about the process of 3D printing and how the printer itself works. I want students to become designers and makers and share their creations with the world. I feel like there is a window of opportunity right now where students haven't been able to be hands-on and now they can!
Imagine teaching students about mathematics concepts like distances and area by having them create their own 3D mazes or about volume by having them create a 3D printed mold and calculating the amount of chocolate needed to fill it.
So many things we can do--
*The ability to study the structure and function of plants and animals
*The ability to print out and use 3D energy models
*Design with precise math skills.
*Complement STEM curriculum and concepts.
*The ability to learn by failing.
The possibilities for truly engaging, authentic learning in maths and science with Makers Empire are endless!
