My Kindergarten class is located in a high poverty area of our city. Many of the students I teach face numerous challenges reaching the expected standards. Our school just got a new math program and the expectations for our students are high. I would like to make the new math program as fun and hands on as possible for my students. To do so we incorporate lots of singing, movement, and games. However, learning to print numbers can be a tedious skill especially when the children need to wait their turn or struggle with paper and pencils. Learning to write numbers on white boards is much more fun and engaging for Kindergarten students and allows them more opportunities for practice. Having magnetic boards allows the opportunity for student to work with manipulatives individually while the teacher models in front of the class. Having dry erase board for each child to hold during a math lessons allows everyone to be engaged in the lesson. If children are actively learning they retain information better and have more fun learning. White boards will also save on paper use. You can help these children meet and exceed the standards with your donation. You will be putting the tools these kids need to gain success right into their eager little hands. Limited resources mean we need to find creative solutions. Thanks you in advance for your kind donation. No matter what the size it is greatly appreciated!
