Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are mostly recent immigrants from Central America. They are eager to learn, but many did not have a strong elementary school education. I teach a Math Support for English Language Learners class that helps students catch up on basic skills while learning more advanced mathematics.

My Project

My students are mostly recent immigrants from Central America, many who have interrupted education. My task is to help students advance 3-5 grade levels in one year! The document projector will allow me to record videos with explanations in both English and Spanish, and upload them to my Youtube channel so that they can review the lesson as many times as needed. The document camera also helps with virtual tutoring sessions-- I am able to project examples of how to solve problems on the computer screen and students can watch in real time.
