My Students
I teach seventh grade Language Arts in an urban school district. Most of the students at SVMS are a part of low income families, where they struggle with basic necessities needed to compete in an ever changing world.
However, with the challenges some of our students face, they still strive to work hard to make growth with the resources we have.
They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
My Project
In my classroom students engage in collaborative learning through centers. It is important to students for them to use 21st century technology that motivates and increases participation through their interests. Learning centers help meet individual student needs and differentiate instruction.
Amazon Fire tablets will be used in a center to incorporate finding informational articles, using educational apps to grow vocabulary, researching information for essays, and creating presentations.
This will allow students to be creative and centered in their own learning. To check for understanding during whole class instruction, students will utilize mini white boards to display answers. These resources will allow my students to grow through innovative learning with technology.
