Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am very lucky that I get to be apart of two classes and I spend my days teaching reading, writing, and phonics to two classes. The students have enthusiastically embraced our two-teacher model and I have been having a fun year getting to know all 30 of the wonderful and hard-working students!

Both my classes have been excited to learn how to code new words in phonics, they love finding new books to read, and they have come up with some of the most creative stories I have ever heard!

It has been incredible to see how they have embraced technology within the classroom! They love getting on to google classroom and publishing their writing pieces. Or, getting onto near pod and following along with my presentation. I am very lucky to get to spend my days with these smart, kind, and incredible kids!

My Project

No one can eat on an empty stomach so I have a snack drawer in my room but unfortunately I have limited funds to keep it stocked so I am hoping that with this I will be able to keep the students fed and ready to learn for the rest of the year!

My students love to share and participate but we need a microphone so we can hear the great things they have to say!

I am constantly having to ask the students to repeat what they said because they have wonderful ideas but we do not have a microphone that works in our classroom.

Also, there are lots of little things needed to keep the students on task and ready to learn so having plenty of white board markers for them to show what they know and timers to help them stay on track will be extremely helpful to their progress!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
