Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am an Elementary Computer Technology teacher in a low income school where 50% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Our Elementary and Primary School students are a very diverse and unique group of Kindergarten through Sixth graders. Each has a variety of strengths and needs, as 25% of our students require Specially Designed Instruction. All of these children are very special and unique in their own way.
My students love hands on activities, and creating and building things, but were lacking resources.
While our district recognizes the importance of STEM education, our lack of funds make it difficult to get activities and resources to our students.
My Project
We are requesting K-6 Snap Circuits. These snap circuits will allow them to learn about electricity and explore different ways to create a circuit. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math is the cornerstone of learning for our future work force. Who knows, maybe this will be the beginning for future electricians!
This is how we are going to make sure our children are prepared for their future.
Snap Circuits are an AWARD-WINNING product line of circuitry learning tools that support a vigorous STEM educational curriculum. It's so easy! No soldering - no tools - it's a snap!
Snap Circuits parts require no tools and and click together to ensure solid electrical connections
