Help me give my students LED lights for atmoshphere, low booksleves that can go below windows, and a presentation clicker with laser to streamline presentations.
My students come from 20 different countries and represent 6 different languages. They come to the U.S. for a variety of reasons but in the classroom they come for one reason only, to learn. My students are some of the hardest working students in the building. They not only need to learn the content, but they also need to learn the English language as well.
This high school is a Title I school with the majority of students receiving free lunch, and many will be the first in their families to attend college.
I service students with a wide range of needs, from special education to literacy lessons for those who did not have a formal education in their home countries. They are open-minded and have embraced students from cultures other than their own. I am blown away by their open-mindedness and teamwork they show on a day to day basis.
My Project
I am looking to get LED lights to provide soft ambiance lighting in my room. The LED strips will go around my bulletin boards, giving them the appearance of a backlight. The Fairy Lights will be strung from the ceiling, and with the dimmer function will allow me to have less harsh lights in my room and make for a more cozy atmosphere. The 3 bookshelves will be against the wall with the windows, not blocking them and giving more counter space to student materials. Finally, the green laser pointer is to have a bright focal point to bring student's attention to.
I am creating this project to bring the final aspects of my classroom to life, all parts will make my room an inviting place to learn and study.
