Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low-income area, but my students don't let anything hold them back. I have some good kids who just might have to work a little harder than others to overcome a little adversity.

My students are fun, playful, and eager to learn.

They are a joy to have in the classroom. I want their school experience to be like that of students who are better off.

My Project

We need these supplies for a variety of reasons. In-class learning, distance learning, and recreational reading. We don't even have erasers, markers, a microphone, etc. for our students.

Students won't read most of the books that are in most school libraries; however, they do enjoy reading graphic novels and anime.

Student reading is already in serious decline and most students in 6th grade think that they hate reading. They don't. They just don't know that there is reading material out there that is something that they can enjoy.
