Make-a-Wish Third Graders: A Christmas to Remember

Help me give my students their own family board game, Christmas stocking, and a fun toy to enjoy for the holidays. This project will reach 28 students in total; both 3rd grade classes.

My Students

I work at a school district that serves 90% Native American students. They are respectful, motivated, and eager to learn. Due to the rise in covid cases within our community, our school has went 100% virtual learning. In our classroom, my students feel heard, respected and safe.

My Project

I am hoping to give my classroom a few games and a small toy for Christmas. I think my class would benefit from having a few games to play over Christmas break while we have had a long year with this pandemic. I've already purchased a small book, popcorn, and juice boxes to have a family movie night. I would love to be able to give them a game to play with their family. Lately, kids have been remote learning since March 15 when COVID starting happening within our state, and students have been within reach of only their computer screens. I think this will help families engage in a family night together while having fun (parent involvement). Many of my students' families have been in quarantine in recent weeks, which this would give them an opportunity to create family bonding, teamwork skills, patience, and beneficial for kids brains and language development.
