Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a school in a high-poverty area, my students face some unique challenges. The school where we are located is considered a Title I school, and 75% of the student population is on free or reduced-price lunch. My classroom is both a gifted and ESOL classroom, so we face the challenge of enriching and providing support to many different learners.

The students and their families are committed to academic excellence; they are hard-working and driven to make sure their students get the most out of their education.

My students come to me every day eager to learn and ready to participate. They love challenges and learning new things! The students love anything technology-based, and I want to try to incorporate as much excitement in their learning as possible.

My Project

I appreciate you taking the time to read about my project! Students at our school are in need of composition books. We use them for every subject to take notes and keep anchor charts for our daily lessons. Due to a supply chain shortage at the beginning of the year, composition books have been in short supply at our school. We could really use more to accommodate new students who transfer in to a class. Students use these notebooks to study for upcoming tests, help solve problems in their daily work, and as a "dictionary" of terms and algorithms. Thank you for considering a donation to our school!
