The colorful Clixo pieces immediately sparked their curiosity as they began snapping them together to build different shapes, animals, and creative 3D designs. We also had the opportunity to share the Clixo materials during our school's STREAM Night, where families and students from across the school explored them together. They quickly became one of the most popular stations of the night, and it was wonderful to see students and families collaborating, building, and experimenting with different designs.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, students have been especially excited about using the Makedo tools. One of the projects they have been working on is building a cardboard car. It has been amazing to watch them plan, test ideas, and problem-solve together as they figure out how to attach pieces and make their design stronger. They love taking turns improving the car and then playing with it once it works. Moments like these show how naturally students collaborate, think creatively, and learn from one another.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using Clixo and Makedo during our STEM and project-based learning time. These materials allow students to explore engineering concepts, practice teamwork, and bring their imaginative ideas to life. The moment they realized the pens would tell them if their answers were correct, the room filled with smiles and eager learners ready to get started. During our literacy and math rotations, students now use the Power Pen cards to practice skills independently while I work with small groups. One of my favorite moments was watching a student quietly check his answer, realize it was incorrect, and then try again until he got it right—all without needing to wait for me. The instant feedback helps students stay motivated and builds their confidence as they practice important skills.\r\n\r\nThese resources have also helped make our small group time much more effective. While some students work with the Power Pens, I am able to provide targeted instruction to groups who need extra support or enrichment. My students love the interactive nature of the cards and often ask if they can use them during choice time because they feel like a game while still helping them learn.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using the Power Pen cards during our reading and math rotations as we build stronger foundational skills. Students will practice phonics, sight words, and early math concepts while learning to monitor their own progress.
