My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing practice assignments at home because of a lack of supplies and resources.

Our school is nestled in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah, which was hit by COVID so badly. Most of my students were doing Distance Learning for more than one year. That affects an enormous lack of opportunity to discover and extend their curiosity to the world.

My Project

I would like to make Makerspaces for my integrated students. My students are highly engaged and motivated. The only limitation for them is tools. They just don't have enough access to build their own creativity on their empty plates.

Makerspaces foster innovation through hands-on experimentation.

With these products, my students have the opportunity to be creative and apply personalized learning strategies to make changes to existing concepts or develop their own ideas, methods, or products. Our first Makerspace project will be creating your own civilization. My class already studies ancient civilizations such as ancient Egypt, China, Greece, and Rome. They will apply their knowledge to build their own civilization.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
