Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the first time in many years, I've got room in my classroom for a classroom library. LINC has no school library, and the nearest branch of the city library system is more than two miles away. The high-interest realistic fiction, science fiction & fantasy, historical fiction, and nonfiction books on this list, plus the two comfy bean bag chairs, will create a reading corner space that my high schoolers deserve just as much as younger students!

Students at the LINC come to live, love and learn as they prepare for adulthood; escaping into and learning from a good book is a vital part of that process!

The books on this list will provide a start to a classroom library that is thoughtful and challenging and continue to build a culture of reading in my classroom, while prompting thoughtful discussion.
