My Students
I teach a group of general, gifted, and below-level students. Despite their label, they are my kids and I would do anything for them. The school where we reside is classified Title I with 100% free/reduced-price breakfast and lunch. My students are full of energy, love, and compassion. I greet them all with genuine smiles and hugs everyday. I am not only their teacher, but a role model. Someone they can look up to. I take this role seriously as I want each and every one if them to reach their full potential and succeed. Although they are low academically, I challenge them to always try their best. My students deserve the best, because they are the best.
My Project
My students have a really hard time keeping their items organized together. Whether its coming from home, or going to home, their papers magically disappear into a crumpled mess inside their desks. With the use of a mailbox, my students will learn the discipline of organization, and even better, one of my students will be tasked with the classroom job of sorting graded work into the mailboxes. Students are able to keep completed work in a separate area so it does not become cumbersome inside their folders/desk throughout the week. The mailboxes can also be used as a communication tool. Students can place notes from home or important papers in their own cubby area so items do not become lost.
