My Students

Children need the opportunities to practice what they are learning. In our classroom we are heavy on children and light on manipulatives.

My students are an energetic, inquisitive, and highly motivated group of kindergartners.

They thrive on being able to investigate the concepts that we are learning. We are an ELL (English Language Learners), Title One, and SN (Special Needs) inclusive building. Our classroom is one that is very reflective of the make-up of our building.

My Project

We are requesting materials that will enhance each child's learning experience when we are working on concepts within our Math, Language Arts, and Science curriculum. By teaching my students the concepts in these curricular areas and then having them practice these skills with their peers with hands-on manipulatives would only make their understanding more concrete.

Young people need many opportunities to practice a concept before it is internalized.

At times there just isn't money in my yearly budget to purchase these things. I know that my children are worth my time and effort in and out of the classroom. The impact of these items in my classroom will give each of my students that extra boost and the opportunity to be successful each and every day!!
