Help me give my students a magnetic write and wipe center board that can be used to teach math, science, and reading concepts though hands-on experiences.
My class consists of 23 Kindergarten students who have such an excitement about school and enthusiasm for learning new things. They come to school each day with a smile on their face ready to meet whatever challenge I give to them. They strive to be caring and "Kind Kinders" by practicing the 7 Habits that will make them a successful future leader.
I absolutely adore the persistence, passion, and excitement that my Kindergarten students show me each day as they approach learning new topics.
For many of my students, this is their first school experience and they have embraced the challenge. Some students have limited speech and language skills, and/or fine motor delays. The ability levels and school readiness varies from student to student in the class. My class is a diverse group of learners that come from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. As a group, these students socialize and help eachother as if they have known each other for years and treat each other like a family!
My Project
This magnetic write and wipe center board will be utilized across all subject areas in my Kindergarten classroom. The students can use it in conjunction with my STEM engineering kit to work cooperatively to construct a roller coaster while developing social skills.
In Reading, the students can use magnetic letters, pictures, and sight words to develop phonics skills and enhance literacy.
They can also use dry erase markers to practice writing words and sentences on the board. These skills are fundamental in developing literacy in a Kindergarten classroom.
The students can also use magnetic numbers and tiles to create and solve math stories, while performing basic mathematical operations. The possibilities for the use of this board are endless and would be a tremendous asset to my students and classroom!
