My Project

This is my seventh year as the STEM teacher at our school teaching all of our students from K-5th grade. We provide free meals to all of our students. These children come to my classroom at different intellectual and ability levels, ranging from gifted to special needs. Some of our students are classified as homeless, some are English language learners who speak little or no English, and some are in foster placement. We have many military families since our school is less than a mile from a military base.

I want to ensure that all of our students have positive experiences and opportunities in my STEM classroom which will help them realize their potential and prepare them for the future they deserve.

I have wanted to make magnetic slime in my STEM class for a long time. I found a recipe for this amazing mixture that uses iron oxide powder and liquid starch. I already have the glue we will need. The neodymium magnets will be used to test our finished slime. The Ziploc bags will store the slime for individual students to use.
