Magnetic Momentum

Help me give my students some necessary learning tools. Magnetic letter, scissors, and white boards are so important for ELL students. These tools will be used daily and benefit ALL.

My Students

My second grade students from Saint Paul enjoy reading, learning, and writing. Reading can be challenging for many as English is the second language for over 50 percent of my students. Many of my students are currently below grade level due in part to their knowledge and use of the English Language.

My students are curious and enjoy learning new things.

Learning comes easier if students have pictures and vocabulary cards to learn from. The engagement and success of my students often comes form some cut and paste matching activities. Matching a picture to a word aides in learning and student engagement. Having magnetic letters and boards to use for spelling makes learning fun.

My classroom is in need of some basic learning tools such as scissors, magnetic letters and boards, divider offices, and some clip boards. These seem like simple tools but yet they are so vital to learning.

My Project

Students learn by reading listening, and doing. Magnetic letters and white board help students to spell, sound out words, and write sentences. Cutting out pictures and matching them to words helps them to make phonetic connections. All of the basic supplies will be used during my Guided Reading groups everyday.

Magnetic Letter will add MOMENTUM and fun to our learning.

Students love cut and glue picture activities , With the new scissors everyone will be able to do more INB worksheets and activities. We will use the clip board to do READ AROUND the ROOM activities. The magnetic letters and boards will used at a VOCABULARY station each day.
