Mrs. Perrault from Brockton MA is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a magnetic white board and magnetic fraction manipulatives to help review math standards while at home with our new online learning platform.

My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. They bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences and culture to our school. We are a Title I school in a low-income community. I have thirty-five Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) students in my classroom. Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day.
My students are creative, clever and very enthusiastic about learning.
The majority of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in school. My students need to have technology experiences that help foster 21st-century critical thinkers. I want all of my students to be able to have the use of technology in our classroom on a daily basis.
As of March 17th, my students will be learning at home as school will be closed due to the COVID-19 virus for possibly the rest of the school year. This presents a challenge as most of my students do not have access to school supplies in their homes.
I am currently teaching S.E.I.
fourth grade remotely from home. With the supplies that I have selected, I plan to use them to support my students and continue instruction. I will use the whiteboard to teach lessons similar to the way I would in the classroom. I will use the other supplies to help aid in instruction. I will use the manipulatives to create meaningful activities that can be used now by me to present to the students and later when my students and I are back together, they will be able to physically use them.
No student should have a gap in their education. I plan to work hard at making sure my students don't have educational decline or gaps due to something completely out of their control.
Your donations for these much-needed school supplies will make a dramatic difference in my students’ home learning. These school supplies will give us the freedom to focus solely on student learning and engagement. My students are very well aware of the kind of people who are involved in Donors Choose and are extremely grateful for any and all support.
