This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning the alphabet involves much more than reciting the ABC song. For this reason, I want to give my students opportunities to practice letters and word knowledge. The activities included in this project will do just that. My students will benefit from using magnetic letters, sight words books and CVC words. This project offers MANY ways for my joyful students to learn alphabet skills. The magnetic letters will be used for the phonics lesson with each group. Student will be able to build words, blend words and practice letter and sound identification to help them with their reading. Students can look for sight words in the books and use the magnetic letters to build them. CVC words will help my students to read.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
