Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is composed of loving and unique little ones. This Pre-K grade is their first school experience in our school, which is a Title I school. They are curious about learning and understanding it all! There is so much potential, and they are so special to me and everybody who meets them. They are four- and five-year-olds English Language Learners and some are bilingual.

My Project

The upper and lowercase magnetic letters are wonderful for students to participate in alphabet knowledge learning actively! We have some magnetic letters, but they are not enough for each student to have their own set. Especially now, while we are in a pandemic, my students need their own set of magnetic letters.

The materials will be continuously used during our literacy lessons, independent practice, center time, and small groups.

Students will utilize them to practice forming their name in proper sequence, matching letters to practice letter identification, matching lowercase to uppercase, creating words (when they are ready for this skill), and more!

My students will be very engaged too, and happy to have these resources and to be able to manipulate the letters in meaningful and purposeful ways for their learning. We thank you from our hearts for the fantastic learning opportunities you are making possible!
