My students are the youngest learners who come from diverse backgrounds. I teach two sessions of preschool. Each session is a mix of typically developing students and those with special needs. In both classes, there are also several students that are English as New Learners. Each child comes to school with varying experiences and backgrounds. They need to be motivated and challenged every day.
We are a high poverty district in which 78% of the students in the township qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.
I believe all children have potential and can participate in all activities given the right motivation.
My Project
My students enjoy exploring the few magnets we have in the classroom. The children will have the opportunity to explore the new materials on their own at first and then will be used during small group. When the children are in school the magnetic sets will be a great addition to our small group activities.
Currently my students are learning virtually and I would love to extend their learning at home with the magnet wands.
The magnet wands would allow them to explore and see what is magnetic around their house.
