My Project

When I first learned about the Makerspace/STEAM curriculum, I wanted to transform my classroom! The ideology behind Makerspace is that children are given various available materials to build anything. This can go across the curriculum. My idea is to continue to expand my school's STEAM lab. The resources I would like to provide for my students include magnetic roads and train tracks. These materials will help my students solve real-world problems, and offer chances for collaboration.

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a place in my STEAM lab.

I am looking to obtain materials such as Magna Tiles that will help the students build and create. I plan to incorporate the supplies throughout the curriculum. For example, my students will be working to create neighborhoods and communities. We will discuss needs/wants and figure out what different geographic locations may need.

These past two years have been an amazing adventure building up the new lab. With your help, more learning experiences will be possible!
