My Students

Every day, I am surrounded by the most amazing students! Even though they come from a variety of backgrounds, including race, religion and family structure, we all work together to create a unique learning experience, instilling a love of learning and exploring that will last a lifetime.

My students are truly exceptional!

They persevere when faced with a challenge, creatively inspire our community, and believe in one another. They are tomorrow's leaders and world-changers. They are our future and together we can help them soar to their dreams.

My Project

Can a book come to life? Can only a wizard make a feather fly or play a game where the game pieces move on command?

In our classroom room you don't have to be a wizard to create magical robotics.

With the littleBits kits, my amazing students will create Harry Potter themed robotic masterpieces. Working in teams, my students will first design a robotic project to complete the spell, wingardium leviosa. Or in other words, they must make a classroom object "fly."

Next, the teams will work together to make their own magical game inspired by Wizard Chess. The robotic game must include pieces that seem to move upon command.

Finally my students will take a look at both of their projects and write a short essay on how using robotics to make objects "fly" or move on its own can be applied to help individuals with disabilities complete every day tasks.

My goal with these projects is to have my students collaborate and persevere as they create magical robotic inventions and then realize the importance of using their ideas to help better our world.

The kits can be reused yearly - keeping the magic alive!
