Help me give my students a complete set of Boom Whackers so that we can explore pitch and rhythm together in a fun and inventive way! We are also in need of shakers for our classroom!
My students are constantly in search of new information and ideas, despite the fact that their resources are limited. Every time they pick up a new instrument, learn a new song or dance, or broaden their musical horizons, the light that shines in their eyes is an incredible sight.
Music is transformative for these students, and because of that, we strive to create the best musical environment we can.
Musical additions like the ones we are able to fun through Donors Choose fuel the interest of the students and add so much to their daily lives. We are constantly exploring and creating in music, which adds to the exploration and creation of who we want to be as people, and how we interact in the world around us. Musical performance is an amazing feat, and a trend that we hope to continue with the help of future funding through DonorsChoose.
My Project
Boomwhackers are an exciting and innovative way to teach primary children all about pitches, rhythm, melody and harmony. I would love to have a complete set for my classroom so that we can expand our use of these great musical instruments. We will use them to play and sing melodies and harmonies to songs old and new. We will also be able to create our own musical compositions with these fantastic musical tools.
In addition to the creativity that Boomwhackers bring to our musical classroom, we are also excited about adding shakers to our un-pitched percussion lessons.
These will provide great opportunities for the children to create and participate in rhythmic activities throughout the entire year!
