Magical Metamorphosis!

My students need life cycle models of frogs, chicks and butterflies as well as butterfly larvae and tadpoles.

My Students

Life is ever changing. I would love the opportunity to show my students how different animals start out and how they change while going through the life cycle process.

My class is a group of energetic young learners at a charter school in upstate NY.

They started asking me last year as third graders about getting to have animals in the classroom and with your help I will be able to give them this rewarding experience.

My Project

I will be able to have my students compare and contrast the life cycles of frogs, butterflies, and chickens. I have requested a planet frog kit and painted lady larvae, so that they will be able to observe the metamorphosis process first hand. I have also requested plastic models for butterflies and frogs so that they will be able to see changes and review past stages. Finally I have requested a set of egg models that show what happens inside of a chick egg as the chick grows. I had chicks in my class last year but the children were not able to understand what was going on inside of the eggs. These models will allow me to show them daily what is happening inside the incubator.

Having completed a similar project with my class last year, I am hoping that you will help me bring this experience to another group of students.

This is an amazing experience that I feel that my students learn a great deal from.
