My Students
My students range from kindergarten all the way to high school seniors. More than half my students come from farming families on working established farms. I see students who range from gifted to those who require special ed. All children from each grade level meet together so a wide spectrum of differentiation is needed. Each grade level in elementary puts on a special musical every year as well as consistently learns each grades DESE music learning standards for our state.
My Project
My music room is quite small. This rug will enable me to save many logistic issues by providing ample seating where all children can see, hear and participate equally. This rug, in and of itself is a teaching tool. The various notation markings and large staff can provide an instant teaching resource which covers multiple indicators on the standards-based curriculum. It is a durable, functional resource with many uses.
It will enable quick seating which provides a safer and more streamlined class environment.
Every child has a place, but it can also be utilized to move students easily during class.
