My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come from homes where English is not the primary language. Others live in poverty.

I always strive to make my classroom environment a safe and inviting place for my students to learn.

I teach at a community school, where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges they face, my students come in every morning eager to learn. I truly believe school is the best part of my students day.

My Project

My students need a new classroom carpet. This carpet will allow my students to have a place to sit during whole group reading and other subjects. Right now my students use the classroom carpet daily. This carpet is perfect for my students. They will be able to turn and talk, do their math centers, reading centers, and interact with each other. This new carpet also has letter names and a picture to represent the letter and sounds. My first graders will use this carpet multiple times throughout the day and they will find great joy coming to a new carpet!
