This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a special education, self-contained kindergarten through 2nd grade classroom. My students are in a special education setting for a majority of their day in order to access a specialized curriculum and differentiated lessons in order to be successful.

My students are a diverse group of learners with amazing capabilities who show their knowledge in different ways.

Although my students learn in a different way, they are always striving to meet individual and academic goals.

Within my classroom, my students are provided multiple facets to demonstrate their learning. By supporting our classroom, you will be providing students with an opportunity to experience new and engaging lessons.

My Project

The books selected in this project are based on my students need for an adaptive reading curriculum. I have purchased a program from self-contained teachers on Teachers Pay Teachers who created a reading curriculum based on the needs of my students.

In this curriculum, my students have engaging activities and lessons that enhance their knowledge of seasons, animals, and community.

These lessons include sequencing, comprehension, sensory activities, and a cooking lesson. By having students go indepth with a specific topic, they are able to fully comprehend the information presented and apply their new skills to other areas in the curriculum.
