This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach PE to students in grades K-5 in a multicultural school that celebrates diversity. My students enjoy running, racing, bowling, dancing, and tennis. They also enjoy reading, math, and playing foursquare, and basketball at recess. Our school is an open-concept school which means that there are no walls that separate classes from one another. Every year, we have a family multi-cultural night where families bring food and wear traditional clothes to celebrate their culture. It's a great time to celebrate the diversity at our school.
My Project
I didn't have many posters in my gym last year but I have a lot of room for posters this year. I'm requesting posters with inspirational messages. Everyone needs a little encouragement when they are down.
These posters will help encourage discouraged students.
And I think these posters will also help motivate other students to think of things in a different way than they may be used to.
These posters also reflect some of the diversity that is at our school. I couldn't find as many posters as I wanted to, but I think this is a good start. I will keep looking for more!
