Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I loved school when I was a student. Learning was fun. My goal is to help my students love school just as much as I did. I try to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming room environment for my students. I love creating challenging and fun lessons.

Every culture has a different way of celebrating the new year and it is important for students to learn about other cultures.

Books about holidays such as the Lunar New Year are a great introduction. We will read the books so my students learn about the Lunar New Year, including customs and traditions.

One Lunar New Year tradition is to decorate your home in auspicious writing and symbols. Another tradition is to give the gift of a red envelope to friends and family; especially to young children. These envelopes are filled with money and symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year ahead.

These materials will engage my students to learn about the Lunar New Year and build an understanding of other cultures!
