Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A large amount of our student body is comprised of AAPI students -- all of whom strive to be first generation college students! Their families arrived to the United States believing in the transformative power of education, yet they don't often to get to see their faces and stories represented around them.

This year the students in our newly minted AAPI club decided to put together our first ever Lunar New Year celebration to help uplift the stories of their peers and educate the student body about the diverse cultural traditions we come from.

With your support, they hope to lead sessions on paper fan crafting, create classroom decoration kits for each teacher, and partner with our student government to offer opportunities to earn red envelopes with prizes! Your support will help us create a wonderful experience serving over 400 students and facilitate a leadership opportunity for students in our club.
