My Students

My 24 TK/K students are willing and able to learn but need the best experiences to broaden their horizons. We are a Title I school, and most of my students have not ever been to a school. I am planning to add flex seating to my classroom to make reading time the focus of the year. My students are 4 and 5-year-olds that have short attention spans but a thirst for knowledge.

We are developing lifelong learners and global citizens.

Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Traditional desks in rows isolate students from each other. As they gain knowledge and feel empowered, the greatest gift I can give them is the ability to see what learning opportunities are available.

My Project

My students must keep up with the latest multicultural books in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about characters that look like them. My school is all online this year, and I need the resources to make connections virtually.

I don't have a large collection of books, so I would like to have books that will hold their interests and keep them reading and listening in my classroom.

This will lead to discussions and shared writings that can further our online community and allow us to bond.
