This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

a. Learning Acceleration: The items I am requesting will spark excitement for literacy within my 6th grade classroom. My goal in language arts is to instill a lifelong love for reading and writing! What better to excite young learners than the help of earbuds for listening comprehension, chapter books to extend our reading excerpts, folders and new writing journals, as well as colored pencils and markers to make journaling more exciting!

My students read excerpts from chapter books and dig deeply into a single chapter.

If they enjoy what they read, they are inspired to read the rest of the book. I chose the books that are most loved by students to encourage them to read the book in its entirety.
