My Students

I have a fun loving, rambunctious group of students this year and I'm loving every minute I get to spend teaching them. I have many students who are behind in reading, nearly half my class. They are a class full of artists, comedians, and athletes. Most of my students are hands on learners. They absolutely LOVE science and STEM projects! We are currently starting a new district-wide program to stop bullying called No More, Not Here! One of the best ways of teaching social skills and anti-bullying is through books. I have many students who have a hard time finding books they love reading. I am a first year teacher and wanting to have a classroom library that has something that can speak to every child to help foster that love of reading and not being able to put down a book.

My Project

My list is full of books students have requested to read and things I know my students will enjoy. I am a first year teacher looking to build my classroom library and help my students gain a love of reading. Many of my students are struggling readers and I have included books I know will captivate them. My goal is to find every student at least one book that they cannot put down! I will be using these books for compare and contrast lessons, lessons on story telling, informational texts, and more! I have also included a few items for art and STEM projects as well.
