My Students
My school is a public school in an urban community which enrolls a free full-day Pre-K program for 3 and 4 year-olds. In the class of my 15 students, three are English language learners.
Having these books will allow me to set up a book challenge The challenge will allow children to select a book and take the book home to be read to them by their parent.
Students enjoy reading and now they want to read to each other.
My Project
This book project allow the students to take books home to read with their parent. This will foster parent-child interaction by reading to their child.
I would like to start a book challenge with the children in my class to get them to read 25 books at home by the end of the school year.
The children are always excited when stories are being read to them. Now I am giving them the opportunity to read a book of their choice to the group of children. For them to be three year olds they have become so happy when it is their turn to read.
