We recently put these tools to the ultimate test during our Snow Inventions project. My students used the Engineering Design Process to identify real-world winter problems, brainstorm solutions, and create physical prototypes. The Chomp Saws were a total game-changer during the \"Prototype\" and \"Test\" phases. They allowed students to cut through heavy cardboard with a level of precision that traditional scissors simply can't achieve, enabling them to build sturdy, functional models that looked like real inventions rather than just crafts.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when the materials arrived was incredible. There was a genuine sense of pride as they realized they were being trusted with \"real\" tools to solve \"real\" problems. Students, who often struggles with abstract math, spent nearly an hour carefully measuring and cutting the perfect angles for a \"snow bot\" prototype. Because the Chomp Saw allowed for such a clean, precise cut, they could see their mathematical measurements come to life perfectly. When they saw the finished product, they shouted, \"It actually fits!\" That moment of confidence is exactly what your donation has provided.\r\n\r\nWe recently had our school wide Gallery Walk where students presented their inventions to the rest of the school and public, explaining how they refined their models based on their initial testing .Your generosity has transformed our classroom into a space where students don't just study science, they become engineers. Your support has helped create powerful learning moments that simply would not have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nMy students especially loved reading \"The Name Jar\" and sharing the stories behind their own names. It opened the door to heartfelt discussions about family traditions, cultural pride, and identity. When we read \"The Rough-Face Girl\", students were excited to compare it to the traditional Cinderella fairytale, noticing similarities and differences while learning about Indigenous storytelling traditions. \"Two Countries, One Me\" sparked thoughtful conversations about their own cultural backgrounds, and students proudly described what makes their identities unique while also recognizing and respecting the diversity within our ESL classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom community is growing stronger through empathy, understanding, and pride in who we are. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically struggles to remain seated independently complete a puzzle while using the weighted lap pad—something that would not have been possible before.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine.
