Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year, I am teaching smaller groups for both 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. I will be supporting students for both reading and math.

I hope to build a love of reading and math.

Centennial is a Springfield school with around 400 total students and over half qualify for free/reduced lunch.

My students love to listen to read aloud, non-fiction text and solving text math equations.

I have had fun getting to know my students.

My Project

I would love to have math, read aloud books to help my students build stronger skills in reading, language, and especially math.

My plan is to have read aloud, math picture books to solve story problems together.

In addition, I want to have the books available so students can read the books on their own.

One of my main goals is to increase motivation in learning new math concepts, which helps with learning new content. My other goal is for students to feel successful in both reading and math. I believe having a nice library in your classroom, helps build that love of reading, which helps them learn in any area.
