This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Love of Reading Week is a week created to inspire and motivate students to love reading! This year, my colleagues and I want to give our 500+ students a book to take home and keep. The books selected for this project are culturally responsive, written by BIPOC authors and about BIPOC experiences. Too often our students are forced to read books that don't speak to their lived experiences so they shut down and refuse to read. I'm hoping that with these books, students will see themselves and it may inspire them to read more.
