My class is made up of a wonderful group of 23 energetic, inquisitive first graders who love to get involved in their learning. We are a Title I school where many of the students receive free or reduced lunch. School is the only place where some of my students are involved in literacy or math activities, while receiving lots of encouragement and support.
They thrive on hands-on experiences and are little sponges, constantly asking questions and looking for opportunities to explore and learn more.
They learning by doing and becoming an active part in lessons.
My Project
My students will love working with technology while writing on the Boogie Boards practicing their sight words, word family words, drawing illustrations, or solving math problems in small groups. They will enjoy hands-on activities making words with the lowercase alphabet magnetic letters. The laminating sheets will be used to make homemade games more durable for little hands.
Kids love listening to stories and will be thrilled to do this with earphones that allow them to listen privately or in a small group.
One of their favorite reading centers is the listening center where they hear animated storytellers read their favorite books.
