My Project

We're excited to share details about an upcoming project! In this collaborative program, our students will have the unique opportunity to see the world through the eyes of their 1st-grade buddies.

One aspect of the project involves interviewing elementary school students about their future goals and how they navigate challenges.

This activity is designed to foster a sense of unity and shared responsibility among the students.

Additionally, our 9th graders will create and read children's books in English and Spanish they've made specifically for their 1st-grade buddies. Many of these books focus on overcoming challenges and building confidence, providing valuable lessons and opportunities for connection.

To further support our students, we'll implement specific strategies from an asset program designed to cultivate empathy. These strategies aim to alleviate suffering and equip students with the tools to persevere.

Throughout the project, we'll visit our 1st-grade buddies three times and have weekly check-ins to understand how they're feeling and how these visits impact their self-esteem and confidence. We'll record their responses and share any major concerns with the teacher to ensure the well-being of all involved.

We believe this project will provide valuable learning experiences and foster empathy, resilience, and mutual support among our students. Thank you for making this initiative possible!
