My students are the kindest, most determined, hardest working people I know. Many of them face great adversity in their homes and in their daily lives, yet they come to school each day willing to learn and to do their best. I love my students more than I can explain and once they have been in my class, they are forever "my kids."
Because of my love for my students, I'm tough on them, but they rise to each and every challenge set before them.
They are tough, strong-willed and determined and I'm so lucky to get to spend every day with them!
My Project
My sophomores read Lord of the Flies each semester, and we have so much fun with it. They write essays arguing who the best leader is, do a Tumblr project as if they’re one of the characters blogging from the island, and have class discussions about what we would do if we were the ones stranded on the island. They also do so many cool activities with it: track their character's change across the text, character body biographies, and symbolism projects.
Our copies of these books are old, damaged, and are beginning to lose their pages; please help us replace many of these old books so we can continue having fun with our reading!
