Help me give my students materials for loose parts and sensory play to enhance learning and creativity with Kinetic Sand and open-ended natural materials.
I have a busy classroom full of curious 4-5 year olds in a STEAM Magnet school in an Urban school district. They love exploring and engaging in sensory play in the classroom. With the materials in this request I will be able to create open-ended experiences for students to use their creativity to explore math and science using loose parts and natural items. They can create patterns, structures- like bridges and nests, letters, etc. as well as sort and classify by size, color, or material.
Our classroom has a sensory table for children to explore pouring and measuring but we need Kinetic sand, play sand, and other sensory materials for my students to explore.
The wooden pieces and the painted stones will have so many uses in our classroom! The possibilities are endless for young learners.
The materials in this project will help my students develop fine-motor skills that are much needed in the age of swiping on a tablet! They will be building persistence and problem solving skills as well as engaging with peers and sharing ideas while being creative. These items will be used in my classroom for years to come! I can not wait to see how my students engage and learn with these items!
