Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My goal is to give them experiences and opportunities they can carry with them into their future.

My students are four years old who come to my classroom with little or no experience with things outside their own homes.

They are eager to learn and explore everything around them. My classroom is made up of a diverse group of children with different abilities. Most of my students enter prek speaking very little or no English. When my students complete prek, they will have been given the skills they need to be successful in kindergarten.

My Project

My project includes books that will allow my children to participate in hands-on activities that will expand their knowledge in different areas of Science and Math.

The wiggle eyes I'm requesting will make their artwork "come alive.' The multicultural paper will expose the children to the different styles other cultures use.

The children will have the tools needed to create art that they can connect with other cultures they see around us. The laminator I'm requesting will give an opportunity to preserve all the things my students create.

My children love to create using anything that is made available. The Do-A-Dot Markers will give them something new to create with.
