Our students came eagerly and happily to school this first quarter and their growth in skills, especially reading and vocabulary in the case of my students is already very notable. The books, games and supplies that you donated toward have made this learning fun and engaging. \r\n\r\nAs an ESL (English as a Second Language) or ML (Multilanguage learning) teacher, I have over 40 students that I pull in small groups. These are just a few of the 160+ML students at our school, all except a couple are from Spanish-speaking homes. The ones we pull need work on vocabulary and reading especially. They love when it's time to use the colorful and high-quality games and materials you helped us get. They play CVC matching games to learn key short vowel and CVCe long vowel words and vocabulary like opposites. They put together puzzles with similar words. They grow their speaking and people-description vocabulary skills playing Guess Who and so much more. \r\n\r\nMany of them ask to borrow the Spanish books and we have a loaner system so they can take them home and read as a family. Our new calendar looks way better than the old one and is helpful when they are looking ahead to classmates' birthdays, field trips and other special days. Our new class pet Axel (lotl) (as they named it), gets to hear how everyone's \"heart was happy\" when we share good news of the day and work on our social emotional health as a small group. \r\n\r\nIf you are near and would like to come visit our classroom one day, please feel free. We would love it! Thank you again for your generosity. My students are now building, experimenting, and problem-solving with hands-on materials that spark creativity and critical thinking. The excitement in the room is contagious—students who once hesitated to participate are now eager to collaborate, share ideas, and take on challenges with confidence.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has made a lasting difference in our classroom. A new busy school year has begun and some of the same students are ready to join our gardening club!
