Help me give my students warm clothes to make sure they are prepared for winter and to have a change of clothes available at school for any bathroom accidents.
I teach in a Title I school where nearly all of my students receive free/reduced-price lunch and need additional resources to be successful.
I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students in a self-contained special education class.
We are able to work on a wide variety of skills in our classroom! We work on academic skills but also social skills, like talking to peers and getting wants and needs met, and functional skills, like personal hygiene and cooking. I try to plan the best instruction to help my students be successful not only at school but also out in the community.
My Project
I have many students who come to school in clothes that are too small or not in good condition anymore. This project will help my students have clothes they are proud to wear to school and out in the community. They need socks, sweatshirts, and joggers. I also have students who have bathroom accidents during the day and need a change of clothes at school.
In order to have a successful school day, it is important to have comfortable, well-fitting clothes.
Right now, I am providing additional clothes for my students two or three times a week and would love to have additional support providing them with clothing to take home and keep. Especially with winter fast approaching, it is important for us to have these clothes on hand to make sure students are able to stay warm.
