This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
These materials will give students a good start to the next school year. Most students come to school, even on the first day, without supplies because their families can't afford them. I have included all supplies that I think students will need to start the new school year off with a bang. I have included the usual suspects, pencils, paper and index cards but I have also included sensory items as well as hygiene items.
My students sometimes have difficulties getting what they need and I want to try to take some of those difficulties away by having supplies for them.
I have worked with students with learning disabilities for many years and I always strive to give them what they need, even when they don't know they need it. I want my students to be successful and I will do my best to ensure that they have the supplies that they need to be successful. I never want my students to feel like they don't belong or they don't fit so I'm going to do my best to take away some of that stress.
I believe that by starting the year off on an up note, we can continue that vibe throughout the year. Start well, end well.
